Susan P. Baker, MPH, professor in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy and Management, received the 2005 John Paul Stapp Award at the 76th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Aerospace Medical Association on May 12, 2005.

David Holtgrave, PhD, a nationally recognized leader in HIV prevention and social science, will chair the new Department of Health, Behavior and Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

On May 17, 2005, Scott L. Zeger, PhD, was installed as the inaugural Frank Hurley and Catharine Dorrier Professor in Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Zeger is professor and chair of the Department of Biostatistics at the Bloomberg School and acting director for the Biostatistics Consulting Center.

For Dr. Jane Lubchenco, internationally recognized scientist and marine ecologist, the environment is not a marginal issue, it is the issue of the future and, as she puts it “the future is here now.”
