HOPES provides opportunities for students, trainees, and emerging leaders to engage with experts and develop their skills as future suicide prevention leaders.
Suicide Prevention Training Initiative
Beginning in fall 2025, our Suicide Prevention Training Initiative will serve as a hub for mentorship around suicide prevention. Through faculty training, guidance on research works in progress, and professional development, we will equip trainees with the skills needed to lead in the field.
Injury Prevention Seminar
During the 4th term, HOPES core faculty Kiara Alvarez led a seminar series on violence and suicide prevention.
Suicide Prevention Journal Club
Our journal club meets monthly to discuss suicide prevention articles among a group of students, staff, and faculty representing BSPH as well as other institutions. If interested in participating, click here to be added to our listserv.
Summer Institute
As part of the Center for Injury Research and Policy’s Summer Institute, HOPES faculty led a 2-day course on suicide prevention on July 25th-26th.
