Hub for Outreach, Prevention, and Education in Suicide
The Hub for Outreach, Prevention, and Education in Suicide (HOPES) is a collaborative initiative between leaders of the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) and the Johns Hopkins Center for Suicide Prevention.
Mission & Vision
Our mission is to prevent suicide by supporting the development and implementation of evidence-based best practices, supporting high-impact research and practice that advances suicide prevention, and training the next generation of suicide prevention leaders.
The vision of the HOPES Initiative is to strategically bring research, policy, and practice together to realize meaningful reductions in suicide in the US.
Training & Education Opportunities
HOPES provides opportunities for students, trainees, and emerging leaders to engage with experts and develop their skills as future suicide prevention leaders.
Research Support
Research translation for suicide prevention is the center of our mission at HOPES. Our annual Exploratory Translation and Practice Project (ETPP) Awards support researchers and students seeking to translate suicide prevention research into practice.
Research Translation
Our mission is to ensure all communities have the tools to address and prevent suicide. We seek to provide targeted technical assistance and subject matter expertise at the local, state, and national level.
