Frequently Asked Questions

Please feel free to reach out to jhsph.alumni@jhu.edu with any additional questions. We look forward to seeing you in June!

What is the purpose of the 2020/2021 Graduate Celebration?

The pandemic prevented opportunities for the graduates from December 2019 to May 2021 to celebrate their accomplishments. The School is eager to remedy that by offering programs to not only applaud your successes, but connect you with your classmates, faculty, staff, and School leadership.

When is the 2020-2021 Graduate Celebration?

A variety of programming will be held in-person on the East Baltimore Campus on June 10 and 11, 2022. Some events will also be offered virtually, see the registration form for details.

Who is invited?

All graduates from December 2019, May 2020, August 2020, December 2021, and May 2021, who did not have an in-person graduation ceremony are invited to attend.

Can I bring guests?

Yes, you are welcome to bring guests! Just be sure to include them on your registration.

Please note:
Some events will be limited to alumni only (ex. Professional development and networking), and others will require overflow seating based on room capacity and registrations. All guests will be accommodated in person to the best of our ability at Department/Program events.

Will I get to walk across the stage like a traditional graduation ceremony?

No, this is not designed to be a traditional graduation ceremony. But we did hear your request for that special moment through surveys, so personalized acknowledgement will happen in a variety of ways during the Department/Program events.

What measures are you taking to keep us safe during the weekend?

All events will follow state, local, and JHU guidelines, keeping food and beverage limited.

Proof of full vaccination OR daily rapid testing for alumni and guests 5 and up who are not fully vaccinated or are unable to produce a vaccination card is required.

To be considered fully vaccinated you must meet the below requirements:

  • At least 2 weeks have passed after your second dose in a two-dose vaccination series, such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, OR 2 weeks have passed after your single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson/Jansen.
  • If more than 6 months have passed since the second dose of a two-dose series OR more than 2 months have passed since the single-dose vaccine, you must have received a booster shot.

Masks are optional indoors if you are vaccinated and boosted. However, masks will be required for alumni and guests attending lecture-style events or traveling on a JHU shuttle. Masks will be optional for presenters at lectures if they are able to maintain a 6-foot distance from others in the room.

See our Health and Safety page for more information.

How do I show proof of full vaccination?

Upon arrival and before entering the BSPH building, all attendees must show their proof of vaccination or negative test result.

Valid forms of documentation include:

  • State or Country verification app showing proof of vaccination
  • An original CDC Vaccination Card
  • A digital photograph or photo copy of CDC Vaccination Card (both sides)
  • Students, Faculty and Staff can check in with their JHU ID

See our Health and Safety page for more information.

I am not fully vaccinated or do not have a vaccination card? What do I do?

If you do not have proof of vaccination, are not fully vaccinated, or have children under the age of 5:

  • You must test daily
    • Attendees with negative tests are issued a daily wristband
    • Attendees who test positive will be asked to leave campus immediately
