SOURCE is the community engagement and service-learning center for the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine.
SOURCE’s mission is to engage the Johns Hopkins University health professional schools and Baltimore communities in mutually beneficial partnerships that promote health and social justice.
We also serve as a channel for student, faculty and staff involvement with community organizations, and local projects.
SOURCE has a particular, but not exclusive, focus on East Baltimore neighborhoods in close proximity to the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus.

Canned Food Donation Drive runs through October 17
Donate non-perishable and unopened canned food to support SOURCE partnering organizations’ food pantries! Drop-off boxes located in BSPH, SON and SOM.

SOURCE receives various requests from our partnering community-based organizations for assistance working with clients who speak little or no English. In order to support our community partners, we are looking for Hopkins students, faculty, and staff interested in using their language skills to respond to community-identified needs.

SOURCE is currently recruiting interested students to assist our partner organizations with community-identified short-term projects through the Connection Community Consultants program. Projects may include data analysis and interpretation, surveying, research, writing/revising grants, curriculum design and teaching health topics and much more.
As a SOURCE Service Scholar, Jeff is making an impact this year through his collaboration with our amazing partners at B'More for Healthy Babies to improve behavioral health treatment facilities in our city.
