Center for a Livable Future-Lerner Fellowship
Established in 2003, the Center for a Livable Future-Lerner Fellowship supports PhD students at Johns Hopkins University who are committed to the discovery and/or application of knowledge about public health challenges associated with current food systems, and helping build healthy, just, equitable, and sustainable food systems. Each CLF-Lerner Fellowship award provides up to four years of financial support to be used for tuition, stipend, and research expenses. The fellowship program provides enrichment opportunities such as a journal club, trainings, and meetings with leaders in the field.
Eligibility
Applications are open to prospective PhD students who are committed to the discovery and/or application of knowledge about public health challenges associated with current food systems, and/or about the creation of healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable food systems. The final awarding of CLF-Lerner Fellowships is contingent upon applicants’ acceptance into a PhD program. These are different application and review processes.

Application Procedure
The Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF) is selecting CLF-Lerner Fellows to start July 1, 2023, with a potential end date of June 30, 2027. To apply, applicants should submit a cover sheet, personal statement, transcripts, a curriculum vitae or resume, and up to two letters of recommendation. The CLF-Lerner Fellowship provides up to four years of full tuition support; a cost of attendance stipend as determined by CLF’s home department, the Department of Environmental Health & Engineering; health insurance coverage for the individual fellow; and coverage of the yearly health clinic and one-time matriculation fees.
