The Department’s work in women’s, sexual and reproductive health (WSRH) is dedicated to dismantling barriers to care, advancing wellness, and impacting lives from local communities to the global arena.  

Using a social determinants lens, we generate groundbreaking science, shape transformative policies, and test cutting-edge strategies to reduce health disparities, advance equity, and uplift rights and justice. 

Our core research and practice areas focus where change is most needed—confronting the intersectionality of social and structural disparities in women’s health, including access to contraception and abortion; addressing entrenched gender norms and resulting outcomes such as gender-based violence; advancing sexual and reproductive health across the lifecourse from adolescence to adulthood; and reshaping the conversation on masculinity's impact on health.  

Our work extends beyond research—we actively influence policy and practice through rigorous inquiry, strategic partnerships, and dedicated advocacy, while preparing the next generation of public health leaders to lead the charge in our field.
