Hopkins Economics of Alzheimer’s Disease & Services Center

Hopkins Economics of Alzheimer’s Disease & Services Center

The HEADS Center focuses on advancing research, putting it into practice, and translating new knowledge to policymakers, key stakeholders, and people directly impacted by these diseases.

Our cross-disciplinary research is distinctive in that it focuses on understanding the full range of care needs and on advancing accessibility, affordability, quality, and equity of care. The Center was established in 2019 thanks to a five-year $4.5 million grant from the National Institute on Aging (P30AG066587).

  • Development of a high-capacity, secure computing environment to support novel population-based data analyses

  • Community-building activities to support use of research resources, dissemination of scientific findings, and partnerships with key stakeholders and advocacy organizations to translate findings into policy and practice

A Multi-Discipline Initiative

Housed in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy and Management, our Center taps into the talent of faculty from diverse disciplines and institutions across Johns Hopkins, including the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. Together, we work to improve health systems through research, apply business principles to address challenges, and identify cost-effective health interventions that have both economic and social value.
