Patti Truant Anderson is an assistant practice professor in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering, and a faculty associate in the Department of Health Policy and Management. She serves as the policy director at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF). At CLF, her work focuses on assessing how food production practices influence health, understanding the public's opinions on food and agriculture, and advancing healthy, equitable, and sustainable food systems through policy.
Dr. Anderson completed her public health training at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her dissertation research focused on risk communication and policy issues surrounding bisphenol A (BPA), an estrogenic chemical which became widely known due to its former presence in baby bottles. She is a public health practitioner with expertise in effective public health communication, with a particular focus on food systems, risk, and environmental health. Her past experience includes work in journalism, government, the non-profit sector, and research settings.
