Experiences & Accomplishments
Dr. Marsteller has been involved in health services research since 1993 and specializes in organizational behavior and theory, implementation science and evaluation design and methods. She seeks to estimate the influence of organizational variables and contextual measures on quality improvement, patient safety and disparities reduction activities in learning organizations. She focuses on the determinants of successful implementation, dissemination, and sustainability of knowledge. Dr. Marsteller conducts mixed methods research in both inpatient and ambulatory health care settings.
She is appointed in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, where she sits on the Administrative Committee, and is an associate of the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research and holds a courtesy appointment at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She also serves as an Associate Director of the Center for Health Service and Outcomes Research and leads the Dissemination and Implementation Group within the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
