Emerging Women Leaders in Global Health (EDGE)

“For too long, the solutions to increasing women in leadership included assertiveness training, mentoring, advice on power dressing, and voice coaching - in short, fixing women to fit into organisations and cultures built by and for men.”

Empowering emerging women leaders in global health

The EDGE program provides a vibrant Slack community, networking events, conferences, and programs designed to nurture and support women leaders in non-academic arenas of global health. Our near-peer approach to women’s leadership programming focuses on building essential leadership skills and strengthening global networks for emerging women leaders in training and at the early stages of their careers.

We welcome people of all genders who can be feminist leaders and increase their awareness of the ecology of global health structures and institutions.

The initial series was supported by a multidisciplinary steering committee including Nancy Glass, Yuka Manabe, Becky Genberg, and Michele Decker. Together they represent the Johns Hopkins Schools of Nursing, Medicine, and Public Health, and the Bloomberg School departments of International Health, Epidemiology, and Population, Family, and Reproductive Health.
