Introduces students to experts across a variety of industries including government, clinical care, research, and private and non-profit organizations who utilize information technology and informatics concepts in the real world. Covers topics: how information technology is utilized in a variety of settings including clinical, public health, and research; what ethical considerations must be considered as an informatics specialist; what are the challenges experienced in implementing and utilizing health information technology that informatics experts have faced.
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

This course will be offered virtually, via Zoom, over several days during the HPM Winter Institute. Students will receive course materials prior to the start of the course. Assignments will be due on a date identified by the instructor.
