Health Emergencies in Large Populations (HELP)

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the essential issues related to public health, health care, management, law, and ethics that are associated with humanitarian action, and methods to address them.
  • Analyze health and other humanitarian needs using a multidisciplinary approach that takes into consideration the perceptions, vulnerabilities, and capabilities of the people affected.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate activities in response to major humanitarian crises.

Road Safety Legislation

The World Health Organization, in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit, is pleased to offer this online course to support capacity building in the field of road safety legislation. Participants will become familiar with how to develop evidence-based road safety laws and regulations.

Road Traffic Injury Prevention and Control in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (RTIP)

  • Start Date: Ongoing
  • Duration: Six 1-hour modules
  • Format: Self-paced, online

The RTIP training program covers a wide range of topics in the fields of road safety and road traffic injury prevention. Participants will learn about the global burden and common risk factors for road traffic injury. This program will equip participants with the skills they need to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based road traffic injury prevention and control programs.

Science of Clinical Investigation Training Program

The Science of Clinical Investigation Training Program (SOCI) is designed to enhance clinical scientists' theoretical and practical skills in the design, implementation.

The program is intended for:

  • Scientists, clinicians, or support personnel fully engaged in clinical investigation
  • Regulatory personnel involved in IRBs, DSMBs, and oversight of human subjects research
  • Post-doctoral trainees in the clinical disciplines who would like an overview of the requirements of high-quality clinical investigation

In this comprehensive, multi-modal workshop, public health faculty and staff will learn fundamental advocacy skills, workshop specific policy issues, and gain real-world insights on how to achieve public health goals.
