Below are the master’s programs at the Bloomberg School with an application deadline of Sunday, April 15, 2018. Application deadlines vary by department, some as early as January and some as late as July.
The Bloomberg School offers nine master's degree programs in ten departments.
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology conducts research to discover and characterize the fundamental biological processes relevant to health and disease. Faculty and students work together to increase knowledge of the biochemical and molecular bases of normal and abnormal cellular processes. The department trains highly qualified scientists who—through research, teaching and service—continue to provide new insights into the biomedical issues that have a profound impact on public health.

Environmental Health and Engineering
Master's program study in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering prepares students for leadership roles in practice, development and research pertinent to environmental and urban causes. The Department's cross-divisional affiliation enables us to offer a range of interdisciplinary graduate programs at the intersection of public health and engineering. With academic programs based both on the School of Public Health's East Baltimore campus and the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering's Homewood campus, students benefit from broad and deep expertise in areas ranging from the science of biological processes and environmental engineering to data analytics. Our interdisciplinary approach enables students to design a course of study that can be tailored to meet individualized career goals. Our graduates are leaders in academia and in the public and private sectors.

Mental Health
The Department of Mental Health—the only department dedicated to mental health in a school of public health—conducts research to advance the understanding of mental and behavioral disorders; develops, implements and evaluates methods to prevent and control these disorders; and promotes mental health in the population. Faculty and community health leaders are dedicated to educating the next generation of public health workers and scientists about the importance of mental health, the specific skills needed to address public mental health issues and the integration of mental and physical health.

Molecular Microbiology and Immunology
The Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) is committed to providing outstanding training toward understanding infectious disease processes at all levels, from the population through organismal, tissue, cellular and molecular aspects of public health biology. Our programs seeks to equip carefully selected graduate and postgraduate students with the diverse disciplinary concepts and methodological tools needed to address critical biological issues underlying a broad range of infectious and immunologic diseases of public health importance. MMI's master's programs are designed for students seeking to improve their applications to medical or other professional schools and for students considering career options in the field of infectious diseases, including research positions in academia, government or industry.

Population, Family and Reproductive Health
The Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health is grounded in a life course framework with domestic and international focal areas including adolescent health; child health; maternal, fetal and perinatal health; population and health; sexual and reproductive health; and women's health. Departmental training emphasizes skills including population sciences, behavioral science, program evaluation, evidence-based advocacy and the translation of research into programs and policy.

Master of Arts in Public Health Biology
The Master of Arts in Public Health Biology is a fully online degree program that allows students to advance in current research or teaching positions, enhance credentials for a new position in academic institutions, industry or governmental research organizations or gain a solid foundation for medical school, dental school or advanced graduate work. The program is designed to foster knowledge of, and appreciation for, modern biological principles and research methods applicable to the identification, treatment, and prevention of conditions of relevance to the health of the public. The new program is interdepartmental, involving the active participation of the School’s three biological sciences-based departments: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Environmental Health and Engineering, and Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. Required coursework is offered by these three departments, and also by the departments of Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
Berman Institute of Bioethics MBE
The Master of Bioethics degree is a collaborative program of the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. An innovative, interdisciplinary and cross-divisional graduate program, the goal of the MBE program is to prepare students from diverse individual and professional backgrounds for the bioethics challenges of professional and civic life.
