The Bangladesh Tobacco Control Research Network recently held its 11th annual Research Findings Dissemination Conference in Dhaka. IGTC facilitated grants to young tobacco control researchers who presented their work at the conference. The Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs serves as a valuable partner in this project.

The eight presentations this year brought the total number of grants awarded over the past 11 years to 123. The data from this body of research is critical to informing policies which can make the Bangladeshi government’s vision to make the country tobacco-free by 2040 a reality.

The one-day conference brought together 230 participants from government, NGOs and universities to learn the latest research on many issues facing the tobacco control community.
