Human Rights Violations Widespread in Eastern Burma

Gross human rights violations, including forced displacement, forced labor, attacks by soldiers on civilians, injury from landmines and destruction or theft of food supplies, have been widespread in eastern Burma (also known as Myanmar), with over half of households in displaced areas reporting incidents in the 12 months prior to a 2004 survey.

JHSPH to Lead Local Study Center in a Landmark Government Study of Child Health

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has been selected as a study center in the National Children’s Study to assess the effects of environmental and genetic factors on child and human health in the United States. The study center will manage local participant recruitment and data collection in the largest study of child and human health ever conducted in the United States.

This applies to all School-affiliated buildings, offices, and facilities.
