Digital Health Exemplars

Ghana

Study findings from Ghana as a part of the Digital Health Exemplars Project

Overview

Ghana, a Digital Health Exemplar (DHE) country, has demonstrated significant commitment and progress towards the digital transformation of its primary healthcare (PHC) system. In Ghana, we sought to understand what are the key drivers of transformation, and studied two nationally scaled digital health interventions for PHC to understand their impact.

  • Claim-It, a nationally scaled digital claims management system, that seeks to improve the timeliness and cost of claims submissions and reimbursements through Ghana’s national health insurance scheme.
  • GhiLMIS, a nationally-scaled digital logistics management information system, which aims to centralize the health commodity supply chain data, providing greater visibility and transparency to support data-for-decision-making, and timeliness and availability of health commodities.
