Published

Each year, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health recognizes excellence in academics for both faculty and students. The Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit (JH-IIRU) is pleased to acknowledge several JH-IIRU team members as recipients.

Since 1971, the Golden Apple award has been given annually by the students of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in recognition of excellence in teaching. This year, the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit is pleased to announce that Senior Technical Advisor, Dr. David Bishai, was among the four faculty recipients.

“We are so proud of all our faculty and students and congratulate all who are being recognized,” said Dr. Abdul Bachani, JH-IIRU associate director for training and capacity development.

Delta Omega, a national honor society founded in 1924 at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health (now the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health), inducted several JH-IIRU team members this year: Katharine Allen, PhD; James Bao, MSPH; Marissa Esser, PhD; Nasreen Jessani, DrPH; Caitlin Milder, MSPH and Elinor Shetter, MSPH.  Delta Omega was established to encourage research and scholarship among students engaged in graduate study in public health and to recognize attainment in the field of public health.
